Hello everyone! Welcome to TheNerdFinance.com, your personal guide to financial freedom! The purpose of this website is to guide you through the intricacies of finance by providing you with the knowledge that is not very commonly given in our regular education system.
Here you will be finding answers to common financial questions. If for some reason you don’t see something that answers one of your questions, you’re more than welcomed to leave a comment on any page on this website. I will reply to you and maybe even create an in-depth article based on your question.
You could be the reason for the posting of some of the articles here.
Who Am I?
My name is Misael and my two favorite hobbies are exercising and managing my finances. Yes, managing finances is actually a hobby… at least for me, it is.
Over my time in school, I’ve noticed that our modern education system is very outdated. Financial literacy is not a highly valued subject (in the U.S.). There are a lot of theories for why this is the case but I will not be getting into them.
My point is that financial literacy is not something that enough people are learning about. Thus, we get the results of having the majority of our nation struggling financially. These are issues like going into debt from simple $1,000+ emergencies, not having money working for you, saving nothing for yourself and your family, and many more issues.
What’s worse, obtaining this knowledge doesn’t come easy for those who have a lot going on in their lives. They may not want to spend their time doing in-depth research on finance. Not everyone (the majority of people) finds a lot of interest in learning about this stuff.
During my time in school, I’ve realized that everything regarding finance has already been something I’ve known and that I could learn on my own. I’ve realized since my early teens that finance is something that I naturally gravitate towards, and it’s honestly very interesting to me. It’s something that I can easily understand.
I like to learn about financial subjects on my own because from my experiences in school, I’ve seen that classes don’t go in-depth into the basics that could save people a lot of trouble in life. I sit and wonder, “why aren’t you explaining this vital portion of the lesson?” It’s irritating to me to see how much the education system downplays financial literacy.
This is why this page was created, to walk people through the journey to financial freedom which anyone can achieve with the right habits in play.
Why Do I Want to Help Others?
The answer to this is very simple. It will make us stronger as a whole nation. If more people start to manage their finances correctly we will have less struggling individuals and more successful people who have time to do the things they love. These things that they love can be helpful to the people around them. Similary to Babylon in The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason, the United States can learn to be rich on an individual level.
A more educated society leads to a better future for nearly everyone.
Also, I simply enjoy writing/talking about this in general. I love doing in-depth research and knowing what’s occurring within our economy and financial world.
I love learning more about the subject. Since people don’t want to learn about this stuff because it’s boring to them, my goal is to make this site not only content-rich and helpful but also easy to understand.
